Description

The Ukrainian R-360 was the missile that famously sank the Moskva, the flagship of the Russian Black Sea Fleet. You will get all the 3D printed parts (printed w/ ABS plastic filament) and CNC’d plywood fins (milled from 1.75mm birch plywood) to make the two-stage R-360 shown below. This semi-scale model is 21 inches (51.4 cm) long and weighs around 6.35 ounces (180 grams) without motors.

I produce these models on demand in lots of 9 kits. As soon as I get 5 orders I will do a new production run so please pre-order / order on backorder and I will communicate as soon as I produce the kits.

The kit includes 24mm motor mounts as well as a 24mm to 18mm adapter for the sustainer (works in same length so you can adapt a 70mmx24mm down to 70mmx18mm). Set also includes rod lugs, 1010 rail lugs, and 20mm rail lugs. Lugs mount in slots on sustainer pod and on BT-80 tube so you can easily incorporate different rail lugs.

This is a builders kit so you provide the BT-60 and BT-80 body tubes and short BT-50 stuffer tube for booster (designed to work with standard Estes tubes), nose weight (in my build it needed 2oz), and recovery system (booster is tumble recovery unless you want to add electronics or otherwise modify design). Nose cone has tick marks on shoulder to make marking tubes easier and you will receive build advice documents w/ diagrams. You will be provided with build notes / diagrams and more details of the build.

Here is my built version launching on a D12-0 + C6-5 (it went a bit further than expected so took a little while to find):

Here is the OpenRocket simulation (You will receive the ORK file with your order so you can update with your specific build):

Here are the parts included (support removal, some cleanup, sanding, filling, etc… will be needed as is typical with 3D printed / CNC’d parts):

Sorry my finishing skills are not great — I am sure many of you can make this much better looking (some nice variations for possible paint schemes out there).

Disclaimer: I only list and sell kits for rockets that I have built and launched stable. However, so much of the build for these models depends on choices you make in assembly, motor configurations, weight of fillets / glue, etc… Thus, I cannot guarantee that your flight will be as stable as mine. I strongly recommend that you update Open Rocket simulations files to match your build and do a swing test or other stability test to confirm stability prior to launching. Also you should always pay careful attention with “heads up” launches till you are sure of the stability of a new model rocket. Please follow NAR guidelines as well as local and other laws and regulations.
